Blog entries from me have not been forthcoming lately, due mainly to the purchase of a new computer whose idiosyncrasies had to be mastered before I was confident enough to write and post accurately. Now, after some learning and swearing I am up and running once more.
I must say that it has been rather liberating being not able to write about things that bug me – which seems to be how I function in the Blogger World. There have been so many actions and inactions on the part of world leaders and general day-to-day news happenings, that my mind has been abuzz with things to rant and rave about,
However, as much as I am trying to keep to pleasant topics, I feel a need to have at least one fulmination on our current political leaders.
So, here goes:
It’s a mess! Someone said. “the clowns are in charge”, referring to some current nation leaders – or possible future leaders. That may be somewhat true - yet not at all funny.
On reading reports on Boris Johnson, I find that his hobby is making model buses out of old wine crates in which he paints passengers enjoying themselves. Harmless enough I suppose, if a little childish.
I also read that he and his partner had such a monumental row the other day that the police were called after the girlfriend was heard screaming, “Get out of my flat”. Then came a hissy fit where Boris refused to partake in a political debate that had been scheduled to take place.
This man will most probably be the next Prime Minister of UK.
Meanwhile in the US, Donald Trump has more than ruffled the feathers of Iran and is now (gleefully, it seems) threatening to ‘obliterate Iran’.
He is imprisoning and starving (‘undesirable’) children, disrespecting China, posting juvenile Tweets and is on the receiving end of sixteen (and counting) complaints of sexual assault. And he is the President!
Again meanwhile, our Australian PM who has finally returned from his family holiday in Fiji, has sworn to support ‘our’ friend, the US, bowing and scraping to the (now referred to as ‘mentally disordered’ by Iran) execrable Trump by promising to join him in any upcoming military operations.
Not much else (helpful or otherwise to our country) is planned or proposed.
I have nothing more to say, except I weep for the world as it limps towards Climate Change horror, with ‘the clowns in charge’.
I choose to comment on social issues and write creatively on a variety of subjects - for a variety of audiences.
