After being a teacher for over 30 years, I am now happily retired.

I spent most of my life in Victoria, in suburban Melbourne and (later) rural Gippsland. I now live on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Having always held a passion for writing, over many years my writing experience has included newspaper articles on educational matters, as well as various pieces for newspapers and magazines.

I have also written over 500 eulogies to accompany my husband’s work as a funeral celebrant.

This web site contains samples of my short stories, non-fiction accounts, children’s stories - and a blog which I began in 2012.

(Check out topics above)

In October 2021, I finally published my family memoir, entitled "63 Years, a memoir".
Here's an excerpt:
"Fay and I are taking Grandma for a walk into town to do some shopping. We have gone perhaps a kilometre when, in the distance, we see a somewhat familiar, yet bulkier, four-legged figure stumbling down the road towards us. As he comes closer, we realise that it is our dog, Sambo, and that he is carrying a rather large bundle in his mouth. Our horror on realising that the bundle is a dead chook is intensified when we see that Sambo is being chased by a man wielding a rake, just like Mr McGregor when he went after Peter Rabbit.
As this spectacle rapidly proceeds towards us, the implications of what we see are quickly being ascertained. We have no time to prepare or plan a response. Sambo, by now, has seen us, and decides to present a gift to his family—or seek protection. Whatever his motive, Sambo literally lays the dead chook at our feet. So, there we are, two little girls with our grandmother, a cheeky fox terrier dancing around us excitedly, and a very dead chook on the path in front of us. . ."

Happy reading.
